Interpreting

There exist several types of interpreting which are classified either according to the techniques or to the location of interpreting. At this time we provide the following interpreting services:

  • Consecutive Interpreting

In consecutive interpreting, the interpreter starts speaking after the source-text speaker has finished. The speaker pauses after every two or three sentences to allow the time for interpreter to render the speaker’s thoughts into the other language.

Consecutive interpreting is used for business negotiations, formal and informal meetings, trade shows, receptions and the like. It allows participants of a meeting or a gathering to reflect on what is being said, and is the most effective method for sensitive business negotiations.

  • Simultaneous Interpreting

In simultaneous interpreting, the interpreter renders the message in the target language as quickly as he or she can formulate it from the source language, while the source-language speaker continuously speaks. Simultaneous interpreting is most commonly used in conferences and congresses. Interpreters work in teams of 2 or 3 in sound-proofed booths, interpreting into a microphone what the speaker is saying, and the conference participants listen through headsets.

  • Escort Interpreting

In escort interpreting, the interpreter accompanies a client on a tour or a visit. The mode of interpreting in this case is consecutive. Please also see Escort Interpreting.
